O. D. Lewis Jr., 82, of Russellville, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home.

He was born June 14, 1930, at Dover to Omen Dow and Lena Mae Burnett Lewis.

O.D. was a pressman and a bus mechanic for Russellville School District, a United States Army veteran and a member of Harmony Free Will Baptist Church. He wrote and recorded many songs and sang and played the guitar in the Russellville area for many years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen Louise Lewis, and two sisters, Pauline Taylor and Blanche Jones.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Pam Duvall of Russellville; three brothers, R. C. Lewis of Russellville, Charlie Lewis of Dover, and Tom Lewis of Russellville; four sisters, Pawnee Winters of Dover, Beatrice Jackson of Russellville, Janea Faulkner of Dover, and Arlene Simpson of Russellville; and two grandchildren, Dalton Duvall and his wife, Megan, and Emily Duvall.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013, at Harmony Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Darrell Barnes. Burial will be in Suggs Cemetery, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Active pallbearers will be Jackie Heflin, Doug Taylor, Danny Taylor, Jim Bob Jackson, David L. Simpson and Kevin Kukuk. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Winters, Boyce Jones, Jamie Jackson, Brian Faulkner, Darin Lewis, Andrew Simpson and Quinton Lewis.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, from 5-6 p.m., at the funeral home.
