From Maryland. Wife of Amos Norris. The cemetery burial index states that Jane died at the age of 66 years, 11 months, 14 days, of chronic Bright's disease.

Sacramento Daily Union, Volume 98, Number 83, 12 November 1899: "Death of a Good Woman. Mrs. Jane A. Norris died in this city on last Friday after a long illness. She was the widow of the late Amos Norris, who was well known by the eaily settlers. Mrs. Norris leaves seven grown children, nearly all of whom reside here. She was a Christian woman and much beloved. While her death was not unexpected, her many friends testify to their grief for her departure. She was especialiy devoted to her church work, and her heluful hand and many acts of kindness furnish abundant evidence of her warm heart and exemplary character."

Norris, Mrs. Lillie Dunston, Ada G. Williamson, Anna J. Schrader and Mary E. Pitt, a native of Baltimore, Md., aged 66 years, 11 months and 14 days. Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend the funeral today (Sunday), at 2 p. m., from the Seventh-street M. E. Church South, Seventh, between J and K. Interment City Cemetery."
