Hester was the namesake of her mother, Hester (Jones) Simms, and the twin sister of Isaac Newton Simms, who subsequently moved west to Custer Co., NE, and then to Arvada, CO, where he is buried in the Arvada Cemetery.

Hester E.'s birthdate is problematical. Her twin brother, Isaac "Newt" Simms, was born on September 19, 1847, 12 days before his twin. Also, September only has 30 days, so it is not clear why the tombstone reads "September 31" as her birthdate.
