Charles "Charley" Morris Edmonson, age 62, of Benton, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011. He was born February 1, 1949 in Bauxite, Arkansas. Charley retired as a First Sergeant from the U.S. Army, then worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years, until his retirement in February. He was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. Charley was preceded in death by his parents, Lofton and Corene Edmonson and two brothers, Wayne Edward Edmonson and Ronald Morgan Edmonson.
He is survived by his wife, Avon Edmonson of Benton; two daughters, Ronda Edmonson and Carol Brown both of Hot Springs; sister, Mary Chism of Benton; three grandchildren, Terrin, Abby and Gage and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Michael Edmonson, Bryan Edmonson, Derek Chism, Brad Chism, Rick Davis and Gary Sledd.
