Abbeville - Dr. Glen Roberts Bethune , 47, of 934 Pineapple Road, South Daytona Fla., a native of Abbeville, died Monday night in Daytona Beach.#The funeral will be 10 a.m., Friday in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary chapel with the Rev. Ernest M. Andress officiating. Burial will be in Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 7 until 8 tonight. #Dr. Bethune was born in Abbeville and was a graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. He later received a master of science degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville and his Ph.D. from there in nuclear chemistry.#Dr. Bethine was a professor of chemistry at Bethune-Cookman Colege in Daytona Beach. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, Abbeville United Church and the Board of Realtors in Daytona Beach. Dr. Bethune had lived in South Daytona for 19 years.
