Florence, Florence Co., SC—Sunday, 17 July 1977

ROWLAND, N.C.—Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Williams Alford Arnette will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Ashpole Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery, directed by Blanton-Cottingham Funeral Home.

Mrs. Arnette, 85, died Saturday [July 16] in a Dillon, S.C. hospital after an illness.

Mrs. Arnette was born in Morganton, a daughter of the late Sion Walter [sic: Alexander Bernard—see below] and Ella Hallyburton Williams. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Dillon, S.C.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. L.V. Hyman [Katherine], Mrs. G. Holmes Bell [Ada Williams] and Mrs. O. Kenneth McCutcheon [Elizabeth Patience], all of Dillon, S.C.; a step-son, Rochelle Arnette of Floydale, S.C.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Nell Burke of Florida City, Fla., Mrs. Hattie Carroll of Lumberton, and Mrs. Edna Earl Richardson of Lilesville, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and 16 step-grandchildren.
