The funeral of Mrs. Gustaf Rydstedt was held last Sunday afternoon at 3 pm Rev Oscar Sandahl officiating. Mr. Rydstedt passed away last Thursday after several weeks' illness and was at the time of her death 76 years old. Deceased was born in Elmeboda, Kronobergs Lan, Sweden and came to this country in 1867, settling on a farm in the township of Franconia whom she and her husband have continually resided until about six or seven years ago when they moved to Center City to make their home. Surviving are an aged husband, Mr. Gustaf Rydstedt and two daughters, Mrs. Charles Lifgren of the town of Franconia and Emma, who resides at home in Center City.

Contrary to the current posting on Find-A-Grave (as of 2016), showing Kajsa's birth date as August 20, 1846, she was baptized on that date, but born on August 16, 1846. Some Swedes did consider their date of christening as their true birth date, but it is not common to see this in official records. I suspect the August 20th date had referred to her baptism, but a transcriber of the church record (either in Sweden or Minnesota) mistook it for her birth date. Her husband's obituary reports her name incorrectly as well. Kajsa was never known as Anderson on either side of the ocean. Her father's name was Johan Andersson, but at the time of her birth she would have been named Kajsa Lisa Johansdotter. This is how her name is shown on their marriage record. Had she been born in the U.S. or had she accompanied her parents while immigrating to the U.S., she would have been called either Anderson or Johnson, but she married before leaving Sweden.

Kajsa was baptized at Älmeboda on August 20, 1846 with the following witnesses: Gustaf Andersson and wife Märta Stina Svensdotter from Ramsjö, Långasjö parish. Farmhand Carl Peter Magnusson and maid Ingrid Maria Magnusdotter from Lidanäs.
