Jeff was the son of Benjamin and Judith (Ailor) Weatherly. He married Michelle Ranee Cipcic on October 12, 1985 in Battle Creek, MI. They had 2 children: Garrett A and Carter J.

OBITUARY:
Jeffrey S. Weatherly, age 46, of Lakeville, MN and formerly of Marshall, died early Wednesday, March 25, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Jeff was born July 28, 1962 in Knoxville, TN to Benjamin and Judith (Ailor) Weatherly. The family moved to Marshall when Jeff was a child and he attended Marshall schools. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1980. He attended Kellogg Community College and graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice in 1989.

Jeff was married on October 12, 1985 in Battle Creek to Michelle R. Cipcic. The couple lived in Battle Creek, Lansing, and Caledonia before moving to Lakeville.

Jeff's career was in insurance. He first worked for Trans-America Insurance Company, then State Farm Insurance, then Progressive Insurance. Since June of 2004 he has been Vice President of Claims for Mendotta Insurance Inc. in Eagan, MN. Ill health forced his leave of absence from the company since October 2007.

He enjoyed golf with his wife and friends for his main recreational activity. Jeff loved Lake Michigan and trips to the beach were frequent. He rode his 1982 Yamaha motorcycle (that he kept like new!) every year.

Surviving are his wife Michelle; sons Garrett A. Weatherly and Carter J. Weatherly both at home; his parents Ben and Judy Weatherly of Marshall; brother Dr. S. Gregory (Angie) Weatherly of Marshall and sister Angie (Tim) Bell of Portage; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather and Grandmother Weatherly and Grandfather and Grandmother Ailor.

Friends may call at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Sunday from 1PM to 8PM with family present to greet friends and share memories 1PM-3PM and 5PM-7PM.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, March 30 at 11AM at Kempf Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Brown of First Baptist Church of Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery.

Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to a college education fund for his sons with checks to Michelle Weatherly. Assistance with memorials available at Kempf Funeral Home.
