Doris Jean Saienni

Age 82, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2011. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Doris will be remembered not only for her devotion to her family and homes, but for her love of cooking, baking shopping, entertaining, dancing and travel.

Born in Wilmington, DE, to the late Catherine and Florentine Saville, as a child, Doris was an angel in the St. Anthony Stations of the Cross and as an adult, an active member of the St. Helena's Parish. She is predeceased by her sister Carmel (Millie) Ferrante. She graduated from Wilmington High School and worked for Delaware Trust Company and St. Francis Hospital.

Doris is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Giacomo (Jack) Michael Saienni, her life-long dance partner. They enjoyed their family and friends at their homes in Wilmington, Rehoboth Beach and Naples, FL. She is also survived by her daughter Denise Doctor and her husband Steve; her daughter Diane Saienni Albanese and her incredible grandsons William Paul Albanese III, Nicholas Florentine Albanese, and Alexander Michael Albanese whom she loved very much.

Friends and family are encouraged to visit with the family from 9-10:30 at the ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave, Wilmington on Tuesday, July 19th. Following will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Sts. in Wilmington on Tuesday, at 11 am. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
