She was a Bluff City, Tenn., native and had lived in Johnson City the past 72 years. Mrs Brown was a daughter of the late David H. and Etta J. Boling Weaver.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star No. 194, Nolichuckey Chapter.
Mrs Brown was a member of Central Baptist Church, Johnson City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Earl Brown in 1991, and one son Donley Clark Brown in 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Robert E. Brown, Kingsport, and James A. Brown, Gallatin, two daughters, Col. Virgina Louise Brown, San Antonio, Texas, and Mary Kathryn Vento, Seminole, Fla.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
