Laura L. Kice, of Memphis, Missouri, died August 21, 1978, in the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, at the age of 78.

Laura Oppy, daughter of Frank and Louisa Cobb Oppy was born February 26, 1900, in Iroquois County, Illinois. On February 26, 1919, she was united in marriage to Otto Kice at the home of her parents. To this union one daughter, and two sons were born.

Laura was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Ethel Louise; her parents and one sister, Mrs. Joy Boyer.

She is survived by her husband who tenderly cared for her during her final illness; two sons and daughters-in-law, Delmar and Clarice Kice and Burdett and June Kice, all of Arbela; three grandsons, Jerry Kice, James Kice, and Ronnie Kice and wife Oleva, all of Arbela; two granddaughters, Nancy Kice of Quincy, Illinois; and Rhonda and husband, Sgt Billy Davis of Fairbanks, Alaska; four great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bernice Anderson of Ringgold, Georgia; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Helen Oppy of Watseka, Illinois; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Laura was a faithful member of the Methodist Church as long as health permitted.

Services were held Thursday, August 24, at 3 p.m. at the Memphis Methodist Church. Reverend Neil Dubach, conducted the services with music by Reverend Kenneth Campbell. Burial was in the Hickory Grove Cemetery near Arbela. Arrangements were handled by Gerth & Baskett, Memphis, Missouri.
