Mary Edna Spencer, 101,of Texarkana, Texas, died Wednesday, in a local nursing home after a long illness. Services will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Redwater, Texas, with the Revs. Dee Johnson and Ben Worley officiating. Burial will be in Redwater Cemetery, under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home. Mrs. Spencer was born June 21,1881, at Oxford, Miss., and had lived in Bowie County, Texas, most of her life. She was a charter member of First Baptist Church, Redwater and the widow of Gaskell R. Spencer, who died December 30,1969. Survivors include three sons, J.O. "Mike" Spencer and Gaston R. Spencer, both of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Glenn W. Spencer of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Jeannette M. Creed and Marvis Lee, both of Texarkana; one sister,Mabel Robertson of Houston; six grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. The family will be at the home of Jeannette M. Creed, off Highway 67 West.
