Linda Gayle Porter-Jacobs, 70, of Fordyce, Arkansas, passed away on July 18, 2011 at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce.

She was born on August 24, 1940 in Jacksboro, Texas.

Linda was a retired police officer for the Fordyce City Police and a member of First United Methodist Church in Fordyce.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Porter and Winnie Eatherly-Young.

Linda Gayle is survived by her husband, Joe Jacobs of Fordyce; two daughters, Sonya Holman (David) of Hallsville, TX and Nancy Schwin (Ronnie) of Prattsville; five grandchildren: Madison Holman of Hallsville, TX, Haley Holman of Hallsville, TX, Payton Holman of Hallsville, TX, Jessica Schwin of Prattsville, and Will Schwin of Prattsville.

The memorial services will be held in the First United Methodist Church in Fordyce with Rev. John Fimple officiating. The burial services will be held at Stoney Point Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Fordyce or to the American Cancer Society.
