Funeral services for Josephine Rose Bruchmiller, 94, of the Pert community will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Charles Grasty and G.C. Folmar officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.

Josephine Rose Cordray (Bruchmiller) was born June 12th, 1917 in Drumright, Creek County, Oklahoma and passed away at Odyssey Hospice Health in San Antonio, Texas at 7:25 p.m. on June 26th, 2011. As a girl growing up moved to Arkansas on a farm on White River close to where it empties in to the Mississippi, then to Rosedale, Louisiana, then to High Island, Texas. Josephine Rose Cordray Bruchmiller was a member of the Methodist Church. She also owned several businesses at different times and worked at different locations.

Preceded in death by husband Gerhard Felix Bruchmiller born January 24th, 1905 in Mission Valley, died on December 24th, 1996 in Anderson County, Pert Community, Texas. They were married December 26th, 1935 at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston, Texas. Later moved to Northeast Texas on a farm about 10 miles south of Frankston, Texas.

Also preceded in death were Josephine Rose Cordray's parents Albert Rose Cordray and Victoria Dakota Pogue. She had eight brothers and sisters, which she was preceded in death by: John William Cordray, Alice K. Cordray, twins unnamed, Travis Cordray, Mary Ellen Elizabeth Cordray, Ada Louis Cordray and Otto Cordray.

Josephine Rose Cordray is survived by a daughter Joan Bruchmiller (Johnston) born October 21st, 1936 in Houston, Texas, preceded in death by husband Robert Johnston. Two granddaughters, Sharon Ann Allison born February 28th, 1957, spouse Don Inselmann and child, Troy Inselmann.

Terry Louise Allison born January 3rd, 1959, spouse Don Edwards and children, Dustin Edwards, Aaron Cole Edwards and Ashleigh Edwards.

Josephine Rose Cordray is survived by a son Leon Frederic Bruchmiller born June 17th, 1950 in Palestine, Texas. Marriage - January 29th, 1977 to Velma Jean (Berryhill) Bruchmiller. Two grandsons, Marion Fritz Bruchmiller born July 23rd, 1981 and Clint Dakota Bruchmiller born September 22nd, 1988.

Pallbearers will be Marion Fritz Bruchmiller, Clint Dakota Bruchmiller, Wayne Berryhill and Frutoso Moreno.

Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Palestine.
