John Ed Classen, 80, Hoisington, Kan., died Friday, April 10, 1998, at the Heatherwood Subacute Care Facility in Newport, Rhode Island. He was born, May 2, 1917, in Boicourt, Kansas, the son of George Henry and Bessie Bulger Classen, He married Margaret Warren, June 6, 1941, in Fort Scott.
He was a school teacher, coach and referee. He was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association and served as an officer in the Barton County Retired Teacher's Association. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Funeral services, Tuesday, April 14, 1998, 10 a.m. at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Centerville Cemetery near Devon.
Visitation will be today at 7-8 p.m. at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
