Steve J. Hodges, JR., age 85, of Warren, AR. and Pansy, AR. died Saturday July 16, in Nashville, AR. Born January 23, 1926 in Shirley, AR. a son of the late Steve J. Hodges, SR. and Julia Ann Newman Hodges he was retired from A.P. & L. with 39 years of service, member of First United Methodist Church, the Bradley County Citizen of the Year in 1988 and a World War II Marine Corps. Veteran. After the war, he finished his education at Woodlawn High School graduating in 1946, where he met his wife Laverne Price who served as his typing teacher and they married June 6, 1948. Laverne died November 19, 2005. Also preceding him in death were several brothers and sisters. Survivors are 2 sons Andy Hodges and spouse Wendy, Oxford, MS., Martin Hodges, Warren, AR. 1 daughter Kim Johnson and spouse Wally, Little Rock, AR. 7 grandchildren. Graveside services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 19, at Pansy Cemetery with Rev. Gary Wiles officiating. Arrangements were by Frazer's Funeral Home.
