ACUFF, ROBERTA BURKHART - age 73 of Halls, departed this life April 4, 2011 at UT Hospital. She was a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Morristown East High School. She was an LPN and taught nursing at Rice College for several years and worked for Dr. Charles Hutson. She loved animals. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Elmer and Mollie Goins Burkhart and beloved sister, Anna Goforth. She is survived by her children, Ronald, Jr. and Bruce and Kelly Acuff; their father, Ronald Edwin Acuff; grandchildren, Amanda Acuff Franklin, Roni, Ronald, III, Amber and Kara Acuff; great-grandchildren, Logan, Lauran, Michaela, Catlin, Holden and Ronald IV and special devoted friend, Emily Anne Ashe Oakley. Family and friends will meet at Asbury Cemetery at 2:15 pm Wednesday for graveside services at 2:30 pm with Rev. Stacey Lawson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Oakland Baptist Church, 15050 Lakeshore Drive, Rutledge, TN 37861 or Young-Williams Animal Shelter.
