Lawrence Alan Stroot was the second child born to Jerome H Stroot and Sandra Chandler Stroot at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Raised in Dearborn, Michigan until the age of five; the family then moved to California in 1959, upon his father's completion of surgical residency at the same hospital.

Larry attended West Portal Elementary for a couple of years, then St Cecilia's Parochial School in San Francisco, Ca; followed with Highlands School(1966), Taylor Intermediate School in San Bruno, Ca; Mills High School, Millbrae, Ca; then briefly at Lincoln High School in San Francisco; and finally graduating in 1972 from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa, Ca.

Larry then entered the US Navy stationed in San Diego, Ca; serving on the USS Ticonderoga in OMD Air Operations.

Upon his honorable discharge(from active duty), he moved to Stockton, Ca for a year or two, eventually settling in Kalispell, Montana as his final destination.

Larry was a hard worker and became an excellent carpenter, painter and overall handyman; his skills being diverse.

His hobbies were car mechanics, motorcycles, hiking, jogging, camping, hunting and fishing. He loved nature and the outdoors.

He was very sociable, loved his family and people in general; and they him.

Larry never married, nor had offspring; although it would have been his wish to start a family someday.

He left behind his father, one brother, two sisters, aunts/uncles, many cousins, grandparents and many friends. He never fully recovered from his mother's death and it was his wish to return to her someday, as he once predicted he would; hence, his personal request to be buried with her. Meanwhile, he loved life and lived it.

After several decades ongoing, he has been sorely missed by his family and those who knew him.

He's now in a better place...we know it and so does he.
