P1, Obit - Sarah Ellen AUGUST, nee GAUSE, was born in Willshire Twp, Van Wert county, Ohio, Jan. 1, 1867; died Dec. 6, 1922; aged 55 years 11 months 6 days. Death caused by burns sustained while kindling a fire. Married Feb. 21, 1889 to Charles F. AUGUST. Had three boys and five girls, two boys preceding her in death. Survivors: husband, six children - Deloris of Turley, Okla; Roy, Daisy, Jessie, Georgia and Thelma, of and near Willshire; three brothers - Charles GAUSE of Lima; James GAUSE of Delphos; Thomas GAUSE of Marion, Ind. For the last three years she cared for her invalid daughter, Jessie. She cared for her aged father and aunt in their declining years. Ten orphan children found in her a mother and shelter under her roof. Funeral was held at Willshire M.E. church Sunday. Interment Willshire cemetery. Out-of-town attendees: Mr. and Mrs. Frank C.
