MAJ. BONSALL'S FUNERAL

Grand Army Comrades Fire Parting Salute Over Grave in Presence of Patriotic Societies

The funeral of that esteemed soldier, Maj. William H. Bonsall, took place yesterday afternoon. Obsequies were conducted at the family residence, No. 1315 West Adams street, by Dr. J. J. Wilkins, dean of St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral. He also read the ritual at the grave in Rosedale cemetery and made a brief address. Bartlett-Logan Post, Grand Army of the Republic, then took charge with the ritualistic service of that order. The firing squad fired the salute and the Veteran Fife and Drum Corps played. There were present delegations from Bartlett-Logan Relief Corps, Kenesaw and Stanton Posts of this city, and Uncle Sam Post of the Soldiers' Home. The services at the residence were attended only by close personal friends of the family, but at the cemetery a large number gathered to honor Maj. Bonsall. The pallbearers were Maj. E. F. C. Klokke, Maj. E. W. Jones, Gen. H. G. Otis, Gen. C. C. Allen, Capt. Reber and Judge B. N. Smith.
