MRS. BEN DAVIES:SERVICES TO BE HELD WEDNESDAY
Mrs. Gertrude Davies, 76, of 500 South Missouri St. died Saturday night at the Samaritan hospital, following a long illness.
funeral servies will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bram Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Barry Williams, assited by the Rev. V.B. Skinner. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Davies was born June 28, 1884 in Palmyra, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Lampkey, (William Lampkey and Martha Ann "Mollie" Winters).
She was a member of the first Christian church here and had been active in the work of the American Red Cross here for many years.
Mrs. Davies is survived by her husband Ben H. Davies of the home; one son, Kenneth, and one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Davies of Osage Beach, Mo, one niece, Mrs. Thelma Opal Horn of Hunnewell; one nephew, Glen W. Allen of Lakenan; four great nieces and one great nephew.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the hour of services.
She was the adopted daughter of George Edmunds and Minnie Iva Wells Emerson Edmunds
