VARNA, IL - Lee Joseph Slimko, 55, of Varna passed away at 9:45 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011, at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley, IL.
He was born on Sept. 16, 1955, in Spring Valley to the late Leo J. and Betty A. (Rutledge) Slimko. He married Sandra Kay Burnell on Aug. 27, 1977, in Varna. She survives.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Larry.
Lee was an over-the-road truck driver, working for Werner Trucking.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm.
He was a member of the Magnolia American Legion Post 254 and was a Patriot Guard Rider.
