He was the owner of the historic "Pack's Mill" which was located at Streeter on Little Bluestone River. This old mill was run by water power and had served that community for almost 100 yrs. It was built by Sam's father, John Pack, who was one of the pioneer settlers of Little Bluestone. Samuel and Rhoda Anne Pack were true Christians. One of the churches of Streeter was named in honor of Rhoda Anne (the Rhoda Ann Memorial Baptist Church).
