U.S. Congressman. After graduating from Brown University Rhode Island, in 1797, he studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1800 and commenced to practice law in Windham, Connecticut. He was probate judge of Windham County, (1818-24). In 1825, he was elected as an Adams to the Nineteenth and Twentieth Congresses, serving until 1829. After his term, he resumed the practice of law until his death at age 77.
