James "Jim" Monroe Bateman was my "Papaw" on my Dad's side. He was the son of John Daniel Bateman and Laura Ada Woolley Bateman. He married Annie Jane Simms on June 29, 1911 in Glen Rose, TX, Somervell Co. They had three children, Harley (my Dad), L. F. "Ted" and Maurine "Sis". He had eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren but died just before he was to turn 64 years old. Therefore he only knew he had two grandchildren. I was nine years old when he died and for me, that was much too early. I loved my Papaw and miss him very much. He was a farmer and a good man.
Jean Wallace
Granddaughter.
