Jack Rodgers, 76, of West Salem, died at 2:51 a.m. Satuday, March 8, 1997, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem, with Rev. Steve Heitkamp officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery, west of West Salem. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m at the funeral home.

Rodgers was born June 18, 1920, in Moweaqua, the son of Jeremiah and Aliza Rodgers. He married June Peterman April 3, 1939, in Shawneetown.

He was an oil field and construction worker and was a member of Laborers Local #771.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Jerry Rodgers, of Lovell, Wyo.; one daughter, Judy Short and her husband, Charles, of West Salem; three sisters, Virginia Woodring and Lilliam Buckholz, both of St. Louis, Mo., and Clementine Yaeager, of Buffalo Grove; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Marion Woodning, a half-brother, Glenn, three sistersi Ruth Buckholz, Martha Salusberry and Geneva Merritt, a daughter, Bertha Jean May, and a granddaughter.
