AGNES ZELENY DOWDING
Agnes Zeleny Dowding was born on July 29, 1892 to James Zeleny and Anna Pohl Zeleny near Little Rock Arkansas. She was united in marriage to Floyd L. Dowding on February 22, 1916 in Seward. She passed away at Memorial Hospital on February 22, 1974. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, an infant son, Raymond, and two brothers, Bill and Jim. She is survived by three sons, Robert and Richard of Seward, Don of Yukon, Oklahoma, two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Velma) Struthers of Seward, and Mrs. John (Betty) Tomandl of Auburn, New York, 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Jake and Ray Zeleny of Seward, Gilbert of Swanton, and Louis of Salina, Kansas, three sisters, Mrs. Martha Slonecker of Seward, Emma Nelson of Falls City, and Christy Ward of Edgemont, South Dakota. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Army Mothers Club. Funeral services were conducted by Father Clarence Reisdorff at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on February 25, 1974. Casket bearers were Joe Dowding, Max Slonecker, Ken Trauernicht, Dr. Frank Maixner, Frank Newton, and Rudy Codr.
