She was born July 3, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of Raymond and Juanita Cole Roupe.
Mrs. Poland attended Trinity schools and had worked as a housekeeper for Holiday Inn, Meadow Lands.
On July 1, 1945, she married Donald W. Poland, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Donald Poland of Prosperity; six daughters, Phyllis Moore and Sheila Dennis, both of Washington, Sandra Jones and Debra Montgomery, both of Claysville, Tammy Kloska of Venetia and Valerie Cole of Prosperity; a brother, Raymond Roupe of Washington; two sisters, Juanita Moore of Washington and Mary Lu Williams of the state of California; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Paul Roupe; two sisters, Dorothy and Phyllis Roupe; and two grandsons, Eric Poland and Baby Moore.
POLAND - Friends of Evelyn Mae Poland of Washington, who died Sunday, May 13, 2001, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in North Buffalo Church Cemetery, Washington.
