Harley was married to Della May Shafer on May 20, 1912, and to this union were born two sons. They later divorced. On August 21, 1939, he married Velda Kirkpatrick in Lancaster, Mo., and to this union were born two daughters. He is survived by his wife, Velda, two sons, Roscoe of Linby and Eugene of Verona, Mo., two daughters, Florence and Patricia at home; his mother, Mrs. Clara White of Harvey; two brothers, Asa of St. Anthony and Earl of Iowa City; a sister, Mrs. Nova Selck of Iowa City, and two grandchildren. His father preceded him in death.
Mr. White grew up in the Hedrick community and had been employed by the Burlington railroad for thirty-six years. He was a railroad Section Foreman in Hedrick, Martinsburg, and Batavia. He moved to Hedrick three years before his death after living in various communities as a worker for the Burlington Railroad. He was a member of the Hedrick Christian church and belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Batavia and the Oddfellows and Rebekah Lodge in Martinsburg.
Funeral services for Harley L. White, 58, who died at this home were held at the Baptist Church in Hedrick Thursday, Jan. 11, with the Rev. Kenneth Bean officiating. Interment was made at the Mt. Zion cemetery northeast of Martinsburg.
