Ralph "Bill" Weese, 81, of Route 3, Box 305A, Buckhannon, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon.
He was born April 2, 1923, in Beverly, the son of the late Blaine Weese and Myrtle Kyle Weese.
On Oct. 20, 1945, he was married to Laura B. Trimble Weese, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Donald F. Weese and wife, Denise, of Buckhannon, and David B. Weese and wife, Deborah, of Buckhannon; two daughters, Patty Plymale and husband, Gene, of Buckhannon and Susan Currence and husband, Michael, of Buckhannon; one brother, Blaine "Monk" Weese of Elkins; one sister, Betty "Pickle" Smith of Elkins; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ralph William Weese; two brothers, Glenn Kyle and Jimmy Weese; and two sisters, Christine "Tennie" Cropp and Mary Valentine.
He was the branch president of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints on two different times. He worked for Kroger for 24 years as a produce manager, worked eight years as a correctional officer at Pruntytown and retired as a correctional officer for the Upshur County Sheriff's Department.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints, where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday. Bishop Barger will officiate and interment will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
