Joe Richard Pogue
(November 20, 1919 - December 30, 2009)
Joe Richard Pogue son of the late Bethar Barnes Pogue and Obia Pogue was born in Redford, Missouri, on November 20, 1919. He departed this life at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, on December 30, 2009, having attained the age of 90 years, one month and 10 days.
Joe was a Veteran of the United States Navy and Army, having served his country during World War II. He was a member of the Ellington V.F.W. and the Ellington Eagles Club. He loved turkey hunting and also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Euel, Gene, Doyle, Dean and Jimmy Pogue, and one sister, Toots Amsden.
Joe is survived by two sons, Lowell Pogue of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Lester Pogue and wife Margaret of Pocahontas, Arkansas,two brothers, Bob Pogue of Payson, Arizona and Amos Pogue of Centerville,MO., eight grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren. Joe will be sadly missed by many other relatives and friends who will mourn his passing.
Visitation: Friday 5 to 8 P.M.
Funeral Services: Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri
