Early Resident of Azusa Dies At Age of 79

AZUSA --- An Azusa man who "came to California for his health" at the age of 18, suffered a heart attack and died yesterday afternoon. He was 79 years old.
Oldtimer Fred C. Kraft, 634 N. Sunset Ave., was talking to his neighbor, Daisy McElrath, 638 N. Sunset, when he suddenly complained of a pain in his chest. Mrs. McElrath started to help him back to his house but upon reaching the front lawn of his home he collapsed and died.
He came to California from Minnesota in 1892, suffering from asthma and bronchitis. After residing in Los Angeles he moved to Azusa in 1900. There he bought an orange grove and operated a laundry.
Mr. Kraft is survived by his wife, Lilly M. Kraft.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by White's Mortuary in Azusa.
