Mrs. Mary S. Stewart, age 73, widow of the late T. Jeff Stewart, died in the Bogalusa Medical Center May 28 after an illness of 10 days.

Mr. Stewart was born near Picayune on July 14, 1875, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Stockstill. At the time of her death, Mrs. Stewart had been living in Picayune with a daughter for several years. She was the mother of Moose Stewart, who was at the L. S. U. Center several year ago and Captain Bill Stewart who was mentioned in the book, "Born in Battle," written during World War II.

Funeral services were conducted at the Poole Funeral Home in Bogalusa Tuesday morning with the Rev. Horatio Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Sones Chapel cemetery.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by nine children: Wiley E. Stewart, Bogalusa, Major Marvin "Moose" Stewart, Paris Island, S. C., Wm. S. Stewart, Baton Rouge, La., Mrs. Claude E. Loftin, New Orleans, Mrs. Jewell Richardson, Bogalusa, Mrs. Jack Gibbs, Tuscaloosa, Ala., Mrs. Zora Klyce and Mrs. J. H. __oyles, Kentwood, La., and Mrs. _. E. Smith, Picayune; two brothers, J. E. Stockstill, Picayune, and _. L. Stockstill, Carriere; and one sister, Mrs. A. B. Keaton, Derby.
