Howard Earl Taylor, Sr., 89, of Victor, passed away at his residence, Tuesday, May 3, 2011, following a long illness.

Howard was born March 19,1922 in Ansted. He was the son of the late Abel Taylor and the late, Georgia Rebecca Bryant Taylor. he was also preceded by his wife, Ethel Maxine Ross Taylor; a son, Howard Earl Taylor, Jr.; four sisters, Ruth Eastman, Lillie Holden, Iva Neal and Leada McGuire; two brothers, Cebert Taylor and William Taylor.

He was a US Army Veteran serving time in Euorpe, He received a good conduct medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and a World War II Victory Ribbon, he was a laborer and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church of Victor.

Survivors are four daughters, Mary Ann Young of Pennsacola, Florida, Linda Sharon Ables, Crystal Lynn Legg and Theresa Hope Hawkins of Victor; two sons, Ballard Ray Taylor of Ansted and Lester Wayne Taylor of Victor; a sister, Piney Belle Corum of Beckley; a brother, Clarence Alden Taylor of Victor; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 24 great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted with Pastor Danny Sears officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Cemetery, Hawkins Road, Ramsey, WV.
