He was born in Westford, on April 8, 1936, son of the late Joseph P. Connell and Dolphine A (Socha) Connell. He attended Westford schools.
Before his retirement in 2001, Mr. Connell was employed as a maintenance worker at the Nashoba Valley Technical High School for 31 years.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Brent Gelinas of Pepperell; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Debbie (Wood) Connell of Londonderry, N.H., and David and Erica (St. Martin) Connell of Tyngsboro; six grandchildren, James Ramsay of Pepperell, Jefferey and Timothy Connell, both of Hudson, N.H., and Kevin, Kristen and Kyle Connell of Tyngsboro; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Marjorie Daly of Westford, Marian and John Marabello of Concord, Vivian and Jim Clark of Georgetown, and Joann and Charles McGeown of Middletown, R.I.; a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Susan Connell of Westford; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Earl, Richard, Edward and Phillip Connell, Virginia Kimball and Winifred Daly.
