Benjamin Franklin Tharp, 67, of Steelton, W. Va. died at 8 a. m. Tuesday, December 2, in the Wetzel County Hospital, following an illness of five weeks of leukemia. Born April 4, 1891 in Jacksonburg, W. Va., he was a son of John T. and Olive Dailey Tharp. He was an employee of the Ohio Valley Sand Co. of New Martinsville for 32 years. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Shepherd Tharp; two sons Carl and George, both of New Martinsville; three daughters, Mrs. Opal Schupbach and Mrs. Pauline Goodnight, both of New Martinsville; and Mrs. Beatrice Friedley of Baltimore, MD; two brothers, John A. of New Martinsville and Marshall W. of Grove City, Pa; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Roady, of Myrtle Creed, Ore, Mrs. Drusilla Kessler of Slippery Rock, Pa, Mrs. Alta Whiteman of Hundred, W. Va., and Mrs. Rozena Newman of Wilsonburg, W. Va; and eleven grandchildren. He was a member of the Nazarene Church of Paden City. Friends may call at Home, New Martinsville, where services will be conducted Friday, December 5th at 2:00 p. m. with Brother Herman Ward, pastor of the Nazarene Church of Paden City and Brother Luther Casto of Parkersburg officiating.

Burial will be in North View Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Rev. Jack Tharp, Rev Woodrow Powell, Rev Ray Whiteman, Rev. D. E. Bayer, Mr. Sam McCauley, and Mr. T. M. Bower
