Joseph S. Bitler, 54, died of heart disease at 9 p.m. Thursday in his home, 438 McPheron av. He had been ill for the last year. He had been a contractor in Lima since 1914. Surviving are his widow, three sons, Wilbert, Edward and Louis, all at home; three brothers, J. Louis of San Francisco; Charles and Winfield Bitler, both of Harrison, Mich., and a sister, Mrs. Sylvia Bacome, of Shepard, Mich. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the home by Rev. William L. Steffens. Burial will be in the Memorial Park cemetery. The body was removed to the home Friday afternoon from the Davis-Miller and Son funeral home.
