Joe Gannaway Funeral Held Tuesday Afternoon

Last rites for Joe Gannaway were held in the First Baptist church Tuesday afternoon. Reverend Paul Wilkerson had charge of the services. Rev. E.H. Blumer led prayer and Rev. R.C. Howard of Oklahoma City read the scripture. A choir composed of Mr. and Mrs. Knox Bowser, Grant Hughes, Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Brooks, Mrs. Bob Callett, Mrs. Kathyrn Jones, and Mrs. Harry Youngblood with Mrs. F.M. Wortman at the piano song, "Rock of Ages","Blessed Assurance",and "God Will Take Care of You."
Pallbearers: Bruce Hambleton, Bill, Callahan, Cal Shipley, C.M. Duckwall, C.C. Powell and T.O. Youngblood.
Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery west of Tuttle with H.E. Sowers Funeral Home in charge of burial arrangements.

Obituary

Joseph William Gannaway was born November 8, 1853 in Cedar County, Missouri and departed this life at Oklahoma City January 18, 1942 at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 10 days.
He was married to Margaret Mauney who preceded him in death May 17, 1934.
To this union six children were born. He leaves to mourn his passing today: 3 sons George of Nowata, Okla., Fred of Oklahoma City and Virgil of Tuttle. Two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Ray, Sheldon, Mo. and Mrs. J.W. Potter of Oklahoma City and one sister living in Dunnegan, Mo. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bro Gannaway was converted and joined the Baptist church in 1903. He moved to Tuttle in 1905 and placed his membership in this church. He was faithful in attendance until his health prevented his serving the Lord in the worship service.
