Mrs. Gannaway died Sept. 16, 1987 at Norman Regional Hospital.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Geer , she was born June 2, 1893 at Gainesville, TX. At age one year, she moved with her family in a covered wagon to western Oklahoma near Foss, where she grew up. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, attended Oklahoma University, and taught in the Tuttle and Wewoka High Schools.
She married Virgil Gannaway, a Tuttle druggist, in 1921 and continued to live there until she moved to Norman in 1982.
She was a member of the Tuttle United Methodist Church, United Methodist Church Women, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Gannaway was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include: One daughter, Gloria Rawlings of Norman; One son, Col. Jay T. Gannaway of Roy, Utah; One brother, Paul Geer of Oklahoma City; Three sisters, Grace Boggs of Camarillo, CA; Florence Ledbetter of Chico, CA; Elizabeth Noonan of Kirkwood, MO; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
