John A. Lewis was my Great Grandfather. His children are Irene Vernon Lewis Coffman, Arthur Thomas Lewis, George Alvey Lewis, Robert Lewis, Mary Lou Lewis, Christina Lewis Curtsinger, Mamie Lewis Curtsinger, Vada Lewis Stevens, and Ida Lewis. Two of his children are buried in this same cemetery along with some of his grand children.

John Lewis, aged 49, died at his home near Hales Well at 11 o'clock Sunday after a protracted illness of tuberculosis and was buried at Fairview church after funeral services conducted by Mr. J. C. McClary at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Mr. Lewis moved to this county from Clinton county several yours ago. He is survived by his wife and several children.

He was a member of the Fairview Baptist church and was a good Christian man and neighbor. Much sympathy goes out to his family in their sorrow. Services were conducted by Mr. J. C. McClary.
