Funeral Set For Pioneer

MESA. Oct. 15 -- Funeral services for Adam Clark Holt, 92 years old, an Arizona pioneer who died Wednesday in his home here, will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow from the Mesa Second Ward Chapel, Latter Day Saints Church.

Mr. Holt had been ill only a short time prior to his death and was exceptionally active for his advanced age.

He came to Arizona in 1885 from Tennessee, where he was born, and for many years engaged in scouting and mining in this state during the early days. He also was a scout and miner in New Mexico, Colorado and Texas.

In 1903 he settled permanently in the Mesa district and had engaged in farming and ranching until eight years ago when he retired to devote all of his time in the Later Day Saints Temple here.

Surviving are 10 children: L. J. Holt, Phoenix; Mrs. Emma Allen of Los Angeles; O. B. Holt, J. E. Holt. Francis Holt, Florence Holt, Heber Holt, Marie Holt, Coit Holt and Adam Clark Holt, jr., all of Mesa.
