Bertha Johnson of Hillsdale died at 3 yesterday afternoon of lockjaw, having been ill less than forty-eight hours. Some time ago a corn on one of her toes was treated and blood poison developed. The attack was not serious and fatal consequences were not expected. Saturday evening while seated at the supper table she was seized with tetanus. The combined efforts of four physicians failed to bring relief and she suffered terribly before death. Miss Johnson was born in Hillsdale and she was 20 years old. She lived at home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Johnson. She also leaves these sisters, Mrs. Arthur Browning of Watertown. Mrs. Charles Weimer and Mrs John Benjamin of Hillsdale. and Hazel at home. The funeral service will be held at 1 tomorrow afternoon in the Hillsdale church. Burial will be in Hillsdale cemetery.
