Marlon S. Ashby, 60, died Tuesday afternoon at Community Hospital after a short illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County. He retired in 1979 from Delco Remy after 30 years of service.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Elwood Quincy Lodge Indianapolis, Murat Temple Shrine of Indianapolis, Elwood Chapter and Council, Alexandria Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 179, Madison County Shrine Club, American Legion Post No. 353 at Farmland, Elks Lodge No. 209, Loyal Order of Moose No. 150, Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 174, Continental Dance Club of Indianapolis, UAW Local 662 and National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife, three brothers, three sisters, two half-sisters, two half-brothers.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Utterback officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted Friday.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Elwood Masonic memorial services are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
