Stephen was the son of Daniel Packer - from who the name Packerville comes due to the two cotton mills Daniel owned at the line of Canterbury and Plainfield. Stephen Packer had two wives: 1) Hannah Parke - one daughter, Mary Avery Packer, who married John Branam, and 2) Jane Eliza Bates - two sons - Lloyd and Charles.
