Julie C. Kraft, 51, of Racine died Friday evening at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester of complications following surgery.
The former Julie C. Spear was born Dec. 3, 1939 in Algona, Iowa. She married Kenneth Kraft of Dexter at United Methodist Church in Dexter on Dec. 12, 1957.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; two daughters, Sherrie and Tara Kraft of Racine; and two sons, Timothy and Todd Kraft of Racine; one grandson; three brothers, Merwyn Spear of Elkton, Lloyd of Lompoc, Calif. and Russell Spear, Calif. and one sister Virginia Richardson of Algona.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Julie Spear grew up in Elkton and attended Elkton High School. After her marriage, the couple lived in Elkton area until 1971 when they moved to Racine. Mrs. Kraft was employed as a hostess in various area restaurants and Mr. Kraft is the supervisor of streets and parks for the City of Stewartville. Mr. Kraft also owns and operates Kraft Game Farm in Racine.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Racine and the Ruth Circle.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Racine United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Nelson-Shoemake and Dr. David Lieder, Pastor of Fellowship United Methodist Church of Austin officiating.
Burial will be in Grand Meadow Cemetery. Friends may call Griffin Funeral Home in Stewartville from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
