Alfred F. Kanoza

Alfred F. Kanoza, age 69, passed away Monday morning, July 19, 2011, at his residence in Erie, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Erie on May 21, 1942, son of the late Alfred and Florence Winkler Kanoza.

Alfred was a graduate of Erie Cathedral Prep High School and a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He retired from the Erie General Electric after 39 years of service.

He was a member of St. Casimir R. C. Church, the G. E. Quarter Century Club, the Lawrence Park Fishing Club, and the Blue Dolphins Skin Diving Club. Alfred enjoyed fishing, hunting, scuba diving, reading, and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Senyo Kanoza; two sons: David Kanoza of Henderson, Nev., and Rick Kanoza and his wife, Andrea, of Hasletti, Mich.; two grandchildren: Kennedy Kanoza and Dain Michael Ryckman. He is also survived by a brother, Phillip Kanoza and his wife, Terry, of Harborcreek, along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Mark G. Razanauskas Funeral Home, Erie, Friday from 4 until 7 p.m., where a prayer service will be conducted Saturday morning at 10:30, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Casimir Church at 11 a.m.

Interment Calvary Cemetery.
