Woman Dies in Doctor's Office
Mrs. Ida Cline, a resident of this vicinity for 50 years, died Monday in a doctor's office in Tyler. she was 79 years of age and had been in ill health for about a year and a half, but her death was unexpected.
Survivors include her husband, R. L. Cline; five daughters, Mrs. Peal Harris, Tyler; Mrs. Irene Fleming, Woodlake; Mrs. Blanche Spann, Longview; Mrs. Helen McDowell, Lindale; and Mrs. Bonnie Gatling, San Francisco, Calif.( Bonnie came to live with the Cline family at a young age after her mother died, she was of no blood relationship); two sons, W.W. Cline, Longview, and Claude Cline, Lindale; two brothers, Huntley (Hunley Daniel) Daniels and Marion Daniels (Daniel), Fort Worth; a sister, Mrs. Ross Caudle, California; 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one step-grandson.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church with Rev. Ewell Humphries, pastor of Damascus Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Mt. Sylvan Cemetery under direction of York-Caudle-Gregory Funeral Home of Lindale.
Pallbearers were James Spann, Bobby Cline, Billy Cline, Robert Cline, Mack Harris and Ray (James Ray)McDowell.
Her mother was Louisa Jane Cline, daughter of William C. Cline and Nancy Motley Witherspoon. Louisa was born 23 Mar 1854 in Aurora, Lawrence County, Missouri. No record of her death has been found, but according the Jessie, Ida's half sister, she died about 1882 in Aurora.
