LEO T. BYRNE, 91, of BRICK, died Wednesday at Brick Hospital. He was the owner and operator of Kingston Fuel Co., Union, and Falk Fuel Co., Union, for 50 years, retiring in 1969. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Fuel Merchants Association, Union. Born in Newark, he lived in Irvington and Mystic Island before moving to Brick in 1985.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Flemm Byrne; a daughter, Patricia Elwood of Brick; a sister, Lorraine Hoerner of Lakehurst; a nephew, Thomas J. Hoerner of Lakehurst, and a great-granddaughter, Conner P. Alvear.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Homes, 703 Main St., Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church, Toms River. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
