US Congressman. Elected to represent California's 9th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1915 to 1921. He was defeated in 1920, 1922, 1924, 1926, 1934, and 1944. Also served as a Member of the California State Assembly from 1911 to 1913, and was defeated in 1950, and Prohibition Candidate for United States Senator from California in 1928.
