US Congressman. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Henry Wilson and was educated at local public schools and high schools before attending and graduating from the law department at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1898. He was admitted to the bar the following year and began his practice of law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1902, he married Florence Virginia Klauder in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the couple had a daughter (Dorothea who was born in 1905). He was the Assistant City Solicitor for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 1900 to 1909. He then served as a Member of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives from 1913 to 1915, and also served as the Director of Public Safety for the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 1916 to 1920. He later moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey, and was still living there in 1930. He then ran for a seat in the United States Congress and was elected to the Seventy-Fourth Congress in 1934. A Republican, he then served Pennsylvania's 2nd District (Seventy-Fourth Congress) in the United States House of Representatives from 1935 to 1937. He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Seventy-Fifth Congress in 1936. After his term in the United States Congress expired on January 3, 1937, he returned to his practice of law. He then moved to Montecito, California, where he planned to build a home. He passed away from a sudden heart attack in Santa Barbara, California, at the age of 59. He was cremated and his ashes were buried at the famous Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. His wife Florence passed away in 1957, and she is interred with him.
